A Wisconsin native, Ximena Linares began her dance education at the School of Madison Ballet and continues at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in French. As a student at the School of Madison Ballet, she performed in W. Earle Smith’s the Nutcracker, Cinderella, and various excerpts of classical ballets. Throughout her final years of high school, Ximena attended pre-collegiate summer intensives at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and began her training in modern, contemporary, and African forms of dance. During her time at Stevens Point, she performed annually in Afterimages - a student-directed and choreographed production. Ximena also performed in Danstage, the faculty choreographed production. While continuing her studies, Ximena performed at regional conferences of the American College Dance Association, allowing her to take master classes and meet dancers from the Midwest. Additionally, Ximena participated in many of her peers’ camera dance projects. As her studies at the university are concluding, Ximena has discovered new passions in furthering her modern dance training and performance and wishes to pursue new choreographic work.
